I know that potty-training is not glamourous, and you probably - TopicsExpress

I know that potty-training is not glamourous, and you probably dont care to hear this rambling Im about to embark on. Its hard stuff for all parents, and some experience harder moments with their kids, and some have miraculous kids who just take to it. It puts stress on everyone in the family unit, no matter the experience. My kids have been working at this wholeheartedly since Sunday. Weve had different caretakers, distractions with visitors, mommy and daddy being home, mommy and daddy working. But I have to say, Im amazed at my daughters ability to take each day as a new one. Its not easy and there is an automatic embarrassment and shame that they feel when its not working. Then there is an awesomely genuine joy and excitement when it is. And to top all of it off, they are so sincerely happy for the other when they have success. Hugs, kisses on the others forehead, exclaiming with excitement that their Sissy went on the Potty. Im so proud of them, and so blessed to be able to witness these moments. My children are wonderful and individual and mine. But I cant help but think that these moments are truly representative of what is good in human nature. Overcoming setbacks, not letting the weight of embarrassment and shame hold you back, celebrating with your sister because only she knows what you are going through and what a big deal it is. Being a mother to these two lovely girls is the best thing I will ever do and I am sincerely thankful to God (or whoever/whatever is responsible for this grand design) for allowing me to experience this. And yes, all of this over some pee and poop. Who knew!
