I know that shopping the big box and the whole Black Friday thing is hideous, but I am an independant business owner, and because of these entities I am the one who is there in my studio working, and I support and pay all fair labor, to bring beautiful jewelry to good people, at a fair price. This year we have suffered a huge flood, and a government shut down, and some of us have suffered many days upon end with no business. Please, before anyone judges a business that is open today, realize that it may not be because they want to, but because they have to. Every penny of this economy is sucked up by giant businesses that can afford massive advertising budgets. Maybe how about this, after you have your beautiful dinner, instead of watching the game take a nice walk to your local business community and support the small business that is open, which allows the owner to then feed and be grateful for their family too. Its not that you shop, or buy lovely things, its how you shop. I am not open today, but I understand the businesses that might need to be, in hopes one person comes in, and helps to keep them alive and pay their rent.
