I know that sometimes it is hard to distinguish the difference - TopicsExpress

I know that sometimes it is hard to distinguish the difference between an honest plea and an arrogant boast. I challenge all of those who give to so called ministry get to know those behind that so called or real, ministry. Of course I believe that the follower of Jesus can often discern, the problem is to make sure to discern. It breaks my heart to see some of the so called ministries lying about things they do. For example, I dont believe it possible to give out over 1,000 blankets to the homeless in a matter of a couple of hours when barely that number of homeless exist in the community. There are other things to be aware of as well, is there current willing sin such as unfaithfulness in a marriage, or are those who spread promote themselves as ministries, yet, reject the cause of Christ or showing love to people of differing persuasions, say, political, denominational etc... It really is all about Jesus, or it isnt. That all said, starting off the way I did this post, and as I see many seeking multiple and many donations of various types, lack of honesty, and many other things, contemplate these words of Jesus, not my words, but Jesus words. Then after reading them, ask for Gods Spirit to help you discern truth from non truth. The issue isnt those who do good but dont claim Christ, but my issue is those who seem to do good, contemplate Christ, but go about it in an inappropriate, unbiblical way. Matthew 6: 6) When you do good deeds, don’t try to show off. If you do, you won’t get a reward from your Father in heaven. 2) When you give to the poor, don’t blow a loud horn. That’s what show-offs do in the meeting places and on the street corners, because they are always looking for praise. I can assure you that they already have their reward. 3) When you give to the poor, don’t let anyone know about it. 4) Then your gift will be given in secret. Your Father knows what is done in secret, and he will reward you. Now Mike again, I am glad I know of many faithful and good servants of our Lord, who neither boast, or looking for praise. A good rule of thumb, watch others comments, their actions, watch to see if the Fruit of the Spirit exists in their lives, and in their ministries. Then study to show yourself above reproach by doing what is appropriate for a Savior who died on a cross for us, thus, all of us who recognizes that knowing, He deserves all of the credit, not us, nor our agencies, churches, groups or yes, even so called ministries.
