I know that technology changes quickly and before you get your newest piece of electronics home and learn how to program the thing, the next newer version of it is being introduced and its faster more sleek than you could have imagined. Now multiply that by twenty years. In 1991, Radio Shack ran this ad in the newspaper. If you purchased every computer, headphones, answering machine, telephone, calculator, audio mini cassette recorder, small hand held still photo camera, full color video camera, cellular telephone (with a long term, very expensive contract that charged you at least 25 cents per minute), telephone answering machine, AM-FM clock radio with alarm and timer, software games and programs for your new computer, a personal disc player for CDs and prerecorded music and more from this ad, you would have paid well over three thousand dollars and would have lugged home hundreds of pounds of products with hours of learning time to master its use. OR... You could wait until 20 years and get the iPhone 3Gs with a two year contract for about $99.00, or for free if you signed for a longer service contract. This phone has every feature listed in this Radio Shack ad except its more powerful, faster, lighter weight, much, much cheaper and the entire feature list and so much more fits in the palm of your hand and stores in the pocket of even your tightest pants since its so thin! If we go back fifty years instead of twenty, the comparisons get even more ridiculous. As Bill Murry pointed out not long ago, My iPhone has 2 million times the storage of the 1969 Apollo 11 spacecraft computer. They went to the moon. I throw birds at pig houses.
