I know that the African American population and our friends, brothers and sisters of other races are all comeing closer together in light of the verdict for the Travon Martian murder.. but I would like for all of us to take some of the responsibility for the circumstances that allowed a situation like the legal vigilante shooting of this young black child.. Some where along the line we and our black advocacy organizations dropped the ball... I mean they were totally incompetent and drunk at the wheel.. We need to be asking our black leaders ONE Question??? How did this "Stand Your Ground Law" get passed in 40 or more states with out the black communities being aware of this??? Who is responsible for watching over this sort of changes in the Law systems? Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, The NAACP,.. why were we not protesting against this bill before it became a Law? this is my heart felt grievance.. I believe somebody in politics should have called our attention to this matter long ago.. and we need to hold our political leaders responsible for this blunder..
