I know that there has been a lot of statuss made about the suicides that have occurred at Douglas County High School, and there are tons of people on Facebook saying that if anyone needs someone to talk to, then they are available, but I want to put in a new perspective. Please take a look at yourselves and think about everything you have said negative towards another person. Bullying doesnt just mean harassing, or physical abuse; bullying is saying anything negative to someone. It can only take one sentence or one name to completely distort someones confidence. Please take a look around and realize that it is NOT okay. It is sad that it has taken innocent young people to commit suicide for people to actually realize that maybe there is something wrong with the way that we treat each other. I am not to say that Im completely innocent in this, I have said my fair share of words in high school, and Im not proud. I hope people realize that you can do serious damage to someones well being and not think its a big deal or think twice about it. You dont know what someone else is going through, and maybe that one thing you said pushed them over the edge. Please, please be careful what you say to people. Rest in peace to those wonderful kids that have taken their lives without knowing how much people really care about them.
