I know that there has been some terrible cases of deaths after surgery but the latest idea of surgeons disclosing their mortality rates carries with it some worries as far as I am concerned. I was faced with the situation personally when advised of the dangers of surgery. If I were a surgeon I would look at the risks of carrying out certain operations from now on. This in my humble opinion is yet another knee jerk reaction of politicians who have no real world experience to draw on when making decisions. A strict check on the cause of death after surgery with safeguards to ensure no cover up can be allowed should be sufficient. The risks associated with this type of control method are numerous and will only have negative effects in my opinion.
