I know that this isnt AT ALL a joyful, merry Christmas message but I sat here, sobbing, as I watched these scenarios play out in front of me and knew that I had to share it. I wasnt sure I wanted to watch this. To be honest, Im not exactly sure I could stomach it again. But with Christmas merriment upon us and New Years celebrations soon to follow, I want ALL of you to take this message to heart!...DO NOT DRINK AND DRIVE! Its NOT worth it! Life is too precious. Your life...AND the life of others around you! If you plan to be drinking with family/friends, make arrangements to have a designated driver. If you live in a larger city, and find yourself without a safe way home...call a cab! If you live in a small town....call a friend! If you are with someone who is about to drive after drinking, stop them! If you see someone you suspect has been drinking and is about to drive, say something. I want to see you ALL in the New Year...alive and well! One of the hardest things I ever did (as a much younger woman) was to assert myself to an inebriated friend. I was shy and not at all self-confident but they were drunk and about to drive home. Yes, I had to wrestle the keys out of their hand. Yes, I had to convince them to let me take them home. Yes, I had make sure they made it safely inside. And yes, I had to wake up at the crack of dawn the next morning to get them back to their car so they could get to work on time. Yes....I had to invest myself in THEIR life, but when it was all said and done....NOONE died that night! Care enough about yourself...your family....your friends....your neighbors little boy...your coworkers baby daughter! Care enough about the lives that surround your own and make the choices that keeps every one of them in tact! If youre going to be driving, STAY SOBER! thisblewmymind/the-most-powerful-drunk-driving-ad-ever/
