I know there are lots of charity events planned for this coming Saturday 4th October - but the Firefighter Cancer Foundation Australia is having a Ride to Fire Cancer to raise not only awareness but funds and needs your support in helping support firefighters who are fighting and battling cancer!!! The memorial Ride to Fire Cancer will be leaving from Gasoline Alley Harley Davidson Brisbane at Springwood at 930 am . The QFES Brigade Chaplains will be blessing the riders before they leave on our Inaugural memorial ride. The ride is is being supported by the Patriots a bike group of returned serviceman. During the day John Wayne Parr will be in attendance as will Air Guitar Champion Tommy Thundah, and upon the riders return lunch will be had with the Auction of items that have been donated by numerous supporters. One such item is a framed signed copy of A Firefighters Dream by Rupert McCall l with FDNY signatures featured in the story of the Run across America & Helmet of Destiny. More importantly there will be an interview with a BRISBANE firey whos battled cancer. If you do anything on Saturday, come and listen to a Firefighter and hear the real story of what its like to be diagnosed with cancer after 30 years of fighting fires you wont believe the courage and dignity displayed by this man and his family. Supported by Real Firefighters Wear Pink.. ... Firefighter Band - The Occasionals... River 94.9 Radio has stepped up and is supporting the event as well so the afternoon will be live on location with Danny Hoyland doing some live interviews... 2015 Firefighter Calendar boys will also be there.... Director of Firefighter Cancer Foundation Australia & Firefighter Steve Bunney will be wearing a kilt (that alone will be worth the ride!) First 200 registered riders will get a patch, there is also a limited edition Flag - hope to see everyone there!! GOOD CAUSE, Good Music, GOOD Entertainment - jumping castle & face painting for the kids and finally Good NO GREAT FIREFIGHTERS will also be there!! PASS SHARE
