I know there are some green thumbs on my friends list. Advice please. My front yard landscaping grows a bumper crop of thistles every year and nothing gets rid of them. I was told by someone to liberally coat the dirt with salt, then put a tarp over the area so that it doesnt get sunlight and that should kill off the thistles so I can start over with re-doing the landscaping. Incidentally, I want to rip it all out and start over anyway. The only thing that seems to grow there now are weeds and thistles and they poke up through the decorative rock that is there. Im not going to miss anything I take out.
