I know there will always be debate over Crossfit just wanted to - TopicsExpress

I know there will always be debate over Crossfit just wanted to share this article because I think this was part of my problem. My form was not what it needed to be to be able to incorporate speed with my weightlifting. So for me I need to just stick to something my body will allow me to do. For those who can do Crossfit I admire you. You know when I quit Crossfit and then was told I never finished what I started, you talking about stinging that stung. I have been active all my life and for the last 25 years an avid runner, well jogger. And then to be told that. So I just want to get this off of my mind and clear a few things. I have nothing against Crossfit but for some people that is just not the sport for them. When I started doing Crossfit I loved it and put my whole heart and soul into my workouts. Even though I might be hurting on weekends I still ran. But over time it just seemed like the hurt would last longer between the WODs and then it stated affecting my running ability. That is when I sent a question to a Facebook page called, Asking Coach Jenny in which I preceded to question if she thought Crossfit was the reason for my injury. Well I got backlash from that and was told I hurt some feelings over the post. After four months off, 2 MRIs and 2 injections I was released to workout again, that is when I decided I would just stick to running. I just want to say that I truly respect and am in awe of the people who can do Crossfit. To be able to have the strength and cardio to do those WODS is amazing. And if I hurt anyones feelings because you thought I was bashing the sport and coaches of Crossfit believe me I was not. Yes I think Crossfit was responsible for my injury but only because my body could not handle the weightlifting part and for those who know me well, know that is a true statement. Many times doing a WOD I stated I hated the weightlifting part but still gave it my all. So please forgive me if in your eyes I berated the sport because that was not my intentions just finally being honest with myself and yes I guess I did quit Crossfit, but I dont see that as making me a quitter. It makes me someone who can face reality and understand that there are some things in life that under certain circumstances it is OK to quit. I believe this was one of those circumstances or at least for me because running is my passion and Crossfit was hindering my performance. And if I am still viewed as a quitter then just want to point out since I have come back from my injury I have numerous 5Ks and 4 half marathons and am currently training for a marathon. I respect your sport, I am just asking for a little respect for my decision to continue with the sport I love. And if I hurt feelings over this post then just take me off of your friend list because I am to the point I dont care.
