I know things have been doom and gloom here, so I wanted to share some good stuff. My dad worked his magic on the pool cell by soldering a bypass on the circuit board and getting it all working again. He started that project at dusk, like all Powell projects, got to the soldering at 10:30pm and emailed me just before midnight that it was working. We woke up to blue water! I stopped at the grocery store after my therapy appointment to get clear liquid frozen treats to celebrate Richs birthday in the office. We all sang him Happy Birthday, signed a card, and chatted over frozen ice pops. We picked up Ian and he and I swam in the BIG POOL thanks to Dad getting it clean. It still needs a little work but it was safe enough for us. Ian was dog paddling around like a champ with no fear. Ian and Rich watched Return of the Jedi after dinner and it was fun to hear the occasional WOAH from the other room as Ian got excited about ewoks or Death Stars. He also asked towards the end if they were going to kiss again and it made me think of the Princess Bride. I spent the movie time playing with my new GPS running watch. The thing is too clever for me but Im excited to take it out Saturday for its maiden voyage. So many statistics! Rich had homemade banana ice cream for dessert that our nurse made for us. We love our nurse. We have folks coming over Saturday and Sunday this weekend to clean, mow, grocery shop, have their kids play with our kid, help organize our medical supplies, and hang out in the house so that I can run. All these volunteers are just within the last few hours. And my inbox has many thoughtful Amazon gift cards. When I got home today we had a surprise Aurora Master lamp from Christopher A Walters and Tracie Whitfield which is pretty fun. I just plugged it up and gasped when I looked at the ceiling. I mailed the contract for Taj MaPorch yesterday and theyll start on the 15th. I got approved for life insurance as of September 17th so we can all rest easier about that. And I can hear the comforting wee-deep of the tracking device from Aliens in the other room. Its the one scary movie I can bear because Ive seen it soooo many times I have it all memorized. Ill still jump, but I will enjoy movie time with Rich. Im feeling pretty lucky and loved, all things considered.
