I know this Saturday is probably a very busy day for most of us. Lots of fun stuff going on in the community. Well, heres one more for your calendar. OPHJ Civics class, along with members of the Historical Society of Orange Park will be doing the Moonlight on Magnolia History Walks this Saturday starting at 4:30pm at Magnolia Cemetery on Kingsley Avenue. There will be guided historical walking tours thru the cemetery beginning at 4:30 and the last at 6:30 and starting every 20-25 minutes in between. Interpreters will be positioned throughout the cemetery in period clothing to tell the story of Orange Park through the voices of its people. Stops along the way include a Union general, a steamboat captain, several mayors of Orange Park, benefactress Carrie Clarke, author Nixon Smiley, African-American entrepreneurs, and others. You can park at First Baptist Church of Orange Park, located next to the cemetery. Admission is free but donations to the Historical Society will be accepted.
