I know this is a very intimate post, but if I truly believe we are all in this life thing together, then supporting and expressing ourselves is part of it. After 35 years of not knowing a thing about my father, I think I may have found him. Because my biological mother died when I was very young I didnt have much to work with, but a possible name. That name never seemed to come up with much possibility until about two weeks ago when google decided to correct my spelling to a much more obscure spelling of the same pronunciation... And vuala... A man in the right area, of the right age. I went out and bought a pretty card and hand wrote a very sincere letter. Within the week I received a phone call from someone who truly does believe I could be his daughter he has never known a thing about, but does remember impregnating a woman that year while he was in and out of bars.... Got to love honesty ;) He actually proposed blood work within our first conversation. Whereas I seem to be the one who is skeptical. Now the part I want to share, is that I actually walked into this situation casually... And has since had to come face to face with my deepest anxieties and fears. I had no idea how much emotion there was involved in this, and anyone who knows me knows how emotional I naturally am, so you can only imagine... Life feels more surreal than Ive ever experienced (and Ive lived a pretty surreal life;) If this is him I would have siblings, after being an only child my entire life. This is a wild ride. And apparently the Universe has a sense of humor... The first photo Ive seen of him is as Santa Clause, unmistakably. Long white beard and all. I swear I couldnt make this stuff up if I tried.
