I know this is going to rub some folks wrong, but I have to say it... I scroll through my newsfeed everyday and see picture after heartbreaking picture of abandoned, sick, or abused dogs and cats. Its great that people care. But why do I never see the same focus on abandoned, sick and abused kids??? Long term unemployment benefits have been gone for 1 month now, and kids are suffering the absolute worst of it. Weve also seen cutbacks in funding to food banks and shelters nationwide, yet I see no images nor see any heart-tugging stories to enlighten people of the situation. Im well aware that many of my friends are fiercely pro-life, but why is there no barrage of images and stories to help protect the vulnerable kids who are here living and breathing in this country, or on the earth in general. I can get bombarded with images and video from the tragic dolphin hunting in a cove in Japan, but no one cares about the brutalities of child labor and abuse in South African? I guarantee you those images are just as brutal and moving.
