I know this probably isnt the place for this and if not, feel free to delete it. Im very sorry. The only reason Im putting it here is because I have high hopes that I can prevent it from happening to any of you!! I have always trusted people. I have the biggest heart and always make sure everyone is taken care of. Karma has never been good to me but I still do good things because I care. That has come back to bite me in this ass. Story time: I advertised for a trusting roommate. So that maybe we could get ahead a little more than 2 incomes. I heard from Juanita Mendoza. She gave me a sob story that she needed a place to go. She got a $4,600 check for disability back pay and was going to give is $1,200 to cover until December. We just needed to wait for the long check to clear since it was deposited on the weekend. I let her borrow my truck to take her mom to lunch. She was gone until midnight. Against my better judgement, I let her borrow it again the next day to get the money figured out. I told her one hour. She was gone for 6. I started to get irritated. So, she orders pizza to my house and pays with a check since it was gonna clear. So. All of a sudden, Monday, it wasnt here. I made her get in the car and we went to her bank. She was giving me every reason why we shouldnt go. But somehow, we went. She was trying to get me away saying, Hey theres free coffee over there. And laughed. I could barely hear the teller but I heard her say, This is how much money you owe us which is why your account is closed. So, we go outside and she tells me, My savings account is closed but my checking is still open and the $4,600 is going to clear tomorrow. (Meaning yesterday.) When we got back into the car, I got back out and I went and asked the agent if Juanita truly had a check pending. She told me, No. Nothing is pending and nothing would be deposited because she doesnt have an active account with us. I was extremely irritated but tried to keep calm. On the way home, we ran out of gas because of my broken gauge. We get home and she leaves before Rick and I could confront her. I think she knew she was busted. Yesterday morning, Rick and I noticed that our nightstands were fumbled through. My makeup box was completely open. 3 pair of earrings gone. Some food missing. And the worst, Ricks daughters piggy bank of $30 in dimes is now empty. Called the cops. They cant do anything because we cant prove it. If the pizza place files, thats on them. But I called them and let them know what happened and apologized the best I could. She also wrote me a check swearing it would clear. Its a damn good thing I didnt cash it because it was fraud too. And they wouldnt even do anything about that because I didnt lose anything. It was just a random written check. So stupid. Rick and I are livid!!! I hate the fact that the human race is making me untrustworthy. I loved having a big heart... Im gonna miss that part about myself. Upon posting this, I found two other people that she has wronged. She did the exact same thing to them so this isnt isolated. Hanford and Armona friends, please be careful.
