I know this will offend some, but I have to ask it. For those of you getting social welfare... why do you think you deserve money I worked for? I mean, are you comfortable taking it? Do you not realize that money you receive, that you did not earn, is money taken from me? Look, Im not trying to be rude. Im not trying to be insulting or ridicule anyone. Im just frustrated and, like millions of taxpayers, starting to feel suffocated financially. You might think Im loaded and have all kinds of cash laying around, but truth is I dont. I get by but not by much. Im middle class as the elitists like to say, and I pay a TON in taxes and really dont have much to show for it. I use roads, yes, but I pay taxes on every gallon of gas I buy. Fire departments and police? Yep. But thats what sales and local taxes should be for. The federal government doesnt represent me. My Rep and Senators vote against my interests some 90% of the time. I work around 60-70 hours a week and I work hard. Ive had a job since I was 12 years old, delivering newspapers on my bike with the hope of making $10 a week for my labor. I pay tens of thousands of dollars a year in taxes and for what? I try to ask myself this objectively and I dont come up with many answers. A good military that constitutionally is supposed to protect us from foreign invasion is one thing Ill gladly pay for... BUT there is ZERO protection at our borders from foreign invasion. So much for that. Again, people who dont earn my money are getting something. I earn my money and get next to nothing. The fed claims you need free community college, free healthcare, food stamps, free phones and subsidized housing to get somewhere in life. If that were true, then how did the rest of us get somewhere in life without all of it? My parents didnt have money. There was no inheritance in my family. I never expected or wanted money from my family even if they did have it because thats not how I want to get on in life. Yet I did fine and did so on my own. The idea that its not possible is just absurd and a blatant lie. I hate to say this, but anyone getting free stuff from the government is indirectly stealing it from someone else. By definition, its legalized theft. If someone robbed a store and then handed you some of their bounty, can you legally keep the stolen goods? In the case of the store robbery, no. But in the case of social welfare, yes you can. But its the same damn thing. Unlike my page if you must. But hopefully youll respect the fact that I didnt start this page so that everyone would agree with every single thing I say. I started this page to share my thoughts, news and various visual narratives (pics) that I find interesting. And this morning Im rather pissed off about all of this free stuff nonsense Washington is spewing. And, quite frankly, a little agitated that so many people who claim to be for small government so gladly take the bounty when its handed to them. Again, no offense meant. None at all. I know people need help. Especially in this economy. But just because people need help does not mean they have a right to something that belongs to someone else. I do planned giving and Ive helped people who have asked when I could, but this situation is a whole different animal and its quickly becoming a beast. Until we ALL realize what is happening, and until we all reject it from top to bottom, its only going to continue getting worse. And thats a scary thought. End of rant. :-)
