I know we posted some tough stories earlier today so I thought we would end the day with a happy story. Many of you may remember Thomas (the train wreck) who was brought to the store 7 weeks ago with numerous injuries including a severed leg. Thanks to our friends at the Stratford Cat Project, Thomas got his injured leg removed and all of his other injuries taken care of. Since he is so young, having a leg removed has not been challenging to him. He runs around a plays like a 4-legged kitten. He and his girlfriend NiNi, who he met at the vet’s office, are still madly in love and never leave each other’s side. Now that Thomas is completely recovered, he and NiNi have been adopted and will be going to their forever home tomorrow, together. They will spend the rest of their lives growing old together and be well taken care of. When you see acts of cruelty it is normal to say you hate all people in general. From years of rescuing animals I know that there are far more good people in the world than bad. A ton of people offered to help Thomas and NiNi as did a whole slew of people who offered to help the 6 kittens and the painted cat today. Instead of getting angry at the lousy acts of a few, celebrate all the good people in the world that create happy endings and be one of those people when you can. The lousy people will always get what’s coming to them in the end anyway.
