I know when I was 16 I couldnt wait until I went to the DMV to get my drivers license. Back then I had a pager and quarters to use if I needed to make a phone call or pick someone/thing up. Today, on 2 separate occasions on my way home from work, a mile away, I was almost killed by teenage drivers. One almost head on, and the other in a parking lot going excessively fast. Both girls were on their cell phones. I couldnt help but stop and talk to the girl in the parking lot who was in tears because she realized she was almost killed. She said she was super nervous to drive her brand new (convertible) car yet she was texting. Although all ages text and drive, unfortunately, these kids just dont realize that theyre driving a literal weapon. Someone has to invent something so phones are disabled while driving. My kids wouldnt have a mother today if it wasnt for being aware of my surroundings and NOT being on my phone.
