I know youve all been waiting for my impressions on the Schiit bifrost base model.....so here we go! Its been over 60 hours of burn in. I was listening to Pink Floyd-animals-the song Sheep, and it was just totally incredible! I was able to hear everything! The vocal separation was just superb.....in the song I was hearing things I was unable to hear with just my marantz cd5004! When listening to Pink Floyd-Atom heart mother album, and yes, the song atom heart mother....it was so incredible also. The sound was just so natural, so organic, and the transparency makes me feel as if Im at a Pink Floyd concert! The separation in general, on everything Ive listened to, including rage against the machine-Evil Empire album, and Beastie Boys-ill Communication album were just amazing! Both, rage and beastie albums were like nothing I heard before! Let me say this. Whatever you feed the Schiit bifrost just makes it amazing. I thought my rig was complete....I thought I was in audio nirvana....yeah....ok....who was I kidding??? I needed to get some Schiit....a Schiit bifrost! The base model I have cost me $350 USD plus shipping. And for the money, its just amazing! If anyone is looking for an external DAC, that will kick the Schiit outta anything else in its price range, or even something costing more, then you need this Schiit! The Uber model from what I understand is much better. Well, from what Im hearing already from my bifrost, is already insane! I can only imagine the Uber. If you want detailed, organic, natural sound with awesome soundstage, and just want to be intimate with your favorite artists, then yes, you need this Schiit! Uber model is $419 USD. Add the USB option, your looking at $519 USD.
