I learned a few lessons today at the Greenwood Mall. 1. They don’t “open” at 10 a.m. like their website says. They open the doors and you can go inside at 10 a.m. but don’t even think about blowing your money on anything until 12:30 p.m. (at the earliest). 2. You can try to turn a negative into a positive by joining the crazies and pretend that you’re there to walk but when you’re sporting boots, jeans, a jacket, and are sweating before you can even make it back around to the main entrance to conclude lap one everyone knows that you’re the crazy one because you thought the mall opened at 10 a.m. on a Sunday. 3. All of the teenage/twenty something employees that work at the four places I went have bad attitudes and hate their jobs as much as the next person until you ask about Harry Potter. They all gave me a huge smile with one girl even jumping and clicking her heels. They all ran off and left me on the way to the Harry Potter section but I managed to catch up. So if you experience bad customer service just ask about Harry Potter whether you are looking for it or not. It’s a game changer. 4. Don’t judge a book by its cover. The guy who was literally covered in tattoos and piercings from head to toe was the nicest person I’ve met in a long time. I’m pretty sure he was not a murdering, drug dealing, gang banging thug as most of society would assume. I hope he makes it. 5. I miss my wife! I miss her because I love her and she’s been gone for two weeks and that’s the longest we’ve ever been apart AND she would have known the mall didn’t open at 10 a.m. on a Sunday. She would have at least recommended that I wear my running shoes or not leave the house before noon. That is all.
