I learned something about Munich today. Always carry a passport at all times. My friend and I were having a ball until we made our way down into the subway to catch the U2 train at the München Hauptbahnhof location around 10:30 PM when 3 German policemen stopped us for a routine police check. I was also doing some videotaping on my phone at the same time and wondered if what I was doing was illegal. Fortunately, after realizing my Pennsylvania drivers license wasnt a valid form of ID in Germany, the officers took us into a room nearby, asked us to empty our pockets, searched us (lightly) and then realized we were harmless and said dont be too disturbed about all this. Nevertheless, the creepy older policeman next to him chuckled and said oh ha ha, I like you Americans, mua ha ha, and that disturbed me just a bit. Well, its not every day we get searched in German underground subway stations, so heres another good story to tell.
