I learned yesterday that one of my many enemies in the Indonesian security apparatus - a police detective here in Bali - , recently crashed his motorcycle while in the process of having a stroke that has left him paralyzed on the right side of his body. I cant say it gives me any pleasure and do feel concern for his family but nor can I say that I am surprised. In recent years they have been dropping like flies. A police colonel who tried by mischief to break up my family, in short order ended up herself divorced by her husband and suspended from active duty on corruption realated allegations. Another colonel who corruptly order my illegal arrest and imprisonment in 2008, himself stripped of all his positions and taken off active duty while various corruption and criminal related allegations which had nothing to do with me are slowly processed. Countless senior police who I have clashed swords with have found since seen their careers go backwards. Three chief prosecutors (equivalent of a DA) and several transferred from their staff suspended or transferred to jungle locations to do the worst imaginable jobs. The head of a national political party voted out of office, bankrupted and his party wound up. The list goes on. Justice rarely is done when and how we would have it done, but invariably it always works its course though the process rarely gives us any relief.
