I left the north-east at 16, moved to South Wales and been here - TopicsExpress

I left the north-east at 16, moved to South Wales and been here ever since. Yet this time of year I always associate with wonderful childhood memories of bonfire night, penny-for-the-guy-ing, and ice cold toes. I cant remember a single bonfire night when my younger brother and I were not in tears due to frozen toes - and I am really not kidding here. Now, here is the strange thing; living in South Wales the climate is as different as the two accents. Ive never had cold toes while living in Barry, even when it snows. So whats with that? Was I just a big softy as a child? Was my mam putting me in flip flops in November? Is it genuinely that cold in Co Durham in November? All I know, is I miss the weather. Yes. I miss the cold, I miss the snow, and I miss my childhood. Warren.
