I legitimately dont care if marriage is between a man and a woman, a man and a man, a woman and a woman, a man and a piece of pie, or a woman and toaster. I dont see the sacredness of marriage. I see marriage as merely a partnership, not some hallowed topic. This whole debate is merely a byproduct of religion dying at the hands of mass media. The ability to instantly communicate and share information to people at the opposite ends of the earth has killed the ability for religion to hold any political power. Dont get me wrong, Im not some raging atheist. I honestly could care less what people believe. But you cant ignore the writing on the wall: religion will fade away. Religion is based on personal beliefs. Newer generations are going to be much more open to mass media which will cause them to side with the atheist and agnostic parties. It doesnt necessarily mean they are correct (again, I dont care) It merely means they will win.
