I like Facebook. It serves as a smorgasbord for my full-spectrum curiosities. I deliberately keep friends with wildly varying interests just to sate that boyish curiosity. What is frustrating is when someone posts something that is absolutely intellectually fascinating or challenging to me - be it Adam M. Dowd with a science post, Sarah Balter with a news post Im diametrically apposed to, Missi Watson Finley with some adorable animal gee-wiz, Juan Ortiz with a jingoistic, unapologetic political/military insight, Zereen Abdullah with a Kurdish cultural piece, or any number of my AERC friends with educational horse items - and JUUUST as Im about to delve my mind into this wonderfully scoped resource pool to feed my inquisitive addiction... FACEBOOK UPDATES. WHERE DID THE PIECE GO? OMG! Do I need to scroll up? Down? How far? I MUST read that piece about Ukrainian cultural bifurcations! Who posted it? How much further must I scroll? Where is it? I cant... find... What was it I was looking for? Oh hey, an article about The Large Hadron Collider and the God Particle... Mmmmmmmmmm information.
