I like going to the dentist. Bar one experience when I was about - TopicsExpress

I like going to the dentist. Bar one experience when I was about 8, I have always enjoyed the dentist. Check-ups are the easy part. It gets a little tougher maintaining a happy demeanor when you are in the chair for treatment e.g. fillings, root canals etc. HEALTH WARNING: If you do not like the dentist, skip the next paragraph. The way I look at it, you are going to the dentist because you want to keep your mouth as healthy as possible. That is, after all, the dentists job. Even if I am getting an invasive treatment done (like a couple of root canals over the past 18 months), I am relaxed. The dentist will do their best to fix me up in what could be a painful experience, and they will minimize the pain. During the course of the treatment, drill in hand, the dentist explains (while Im gagged and drooling) whats going on, how my situation arose, and what I can do to improve and prevent this from happening again. In short, my trip to the dentist is an educational field trip full of lessons. So it is with any potentially painful experience. If youre alive there will have been times when youve had bad stuff happen - experiences that just plain hurt that youd rather not have faced. As such, its easy to focus on the bad stuff. But as Ive learned, God uses the bad stuff to teach us some good stuff...if we are willing to seek out the lesson. From what Ive learned, every bad experience has something to teach us. Our challenge is to learn the lesson and turn the once negative experience into a positive one. Easier said than done I know. But if you dont look for the lesson, life tends to get tougher, problems get or seem to get bigger, and success becomes more elusive. Just remember that every experience has something to teach you to help you on your Journey of Success. Endure the experience and embrace the lesson(s). Consider your own experiences and their inherent lessons. Please like, share, add your insights and comments here.
