I like reading the Daily Herald. An article from last month meant a lot to me and finally Ive put the link here in case others are concerned about air polution. There are people who feel that dirty air contributes to autism in susceptible children. I know I was very uncomfortable more than once this winter due to Terrible air quality, worst Ive experienced. Here is a paragraph from the article by Caleb Warnock, and the article follows: One doctor said, Some of what the state is saying is absolutely incorrect, and some of it is tailored to give a perception that we think is incorrect, he said. Some of the data is intentionally crafted to hide industrys contribution to air pollution. It seems there is some degree of collaboration between state and industry about reporting how much industry contributes. We want to try and correct that. Me again - industry collaborating with government is the norm in food pyramids too. One group sued the government because the members of the board of a policy making arm of the federal government were paid employees of processed food manufacturing companies. That is talked about at length in Forks Over Knives. When there is a lot of money at stake, people sometimes make agreements that are not meant for the public to notice. The Freedom of Information Act makes it possible to get some of the meeting minutes though . . . like when they talked about how to make people into cheese addicts . . . When people were preparing to cross the empty prairies in the mid 1800s, Brigham Young counseled them to cut into the ham and taste the flour before they bought it so they wouldnt be stuck with bad food and have nothing better to replace it with. We cant really do that now, but we CAN be informed consumers. I see it working at the grocery store; things that have been exposed as unhealthy (MSG, High Fructose Corn Syrup for instance) are making some processed foods unsaleable. The price goes down. I say, Good Work People : -) Its our duty to learn and to act. heraldextra/news/local/doctors-utah-using-misinformation-on-danger-of-air-pollution/article_6b99c2a3-2ae8-5d7a-a824-b5b94a2816c6.html
