I like this video aside from the slightly boring presentation and the spray cheese. This is a good representation of how our dogs try to tell us theyre uncomfortable. If you have a dog, try this and see if you can tell how often your dog lets you do something even when they dont like it. Before I really started studying body language cues I used to think panting meant my dog was hot and needed to cool off. Now I know it means he is stressed and Im better able to reduce the trigger and help him relax. I also think something changes in your relationship with your dog when you try to understand them. Its hard to explain but its almost as if they start to talk to you more with their body and they appear more confident when you recognize what theyre asking for and give it to them or remove something they dont want.
