I like to focus on the positives and Im grateful for what has been accomplished and still hopeful in spite of the negativity and blatant disrespect and hatred I see everywhere regarding our president. It makes me sick to see the rude and often incredibly ignorant comments about President Obama, many of them come from those who proclaim themselves to be Christian. Well much of what Ive seen over the years are anything but in the Christian spirit nor has it been very American, certainly nothing to be proud of. We worry about our young people and expect them to be respectful and tolerant yet the example so many are setting is just the opposite. This is not what it means to be a proud American in my opinion. Its not what it means to be Christian either. I believe in respecting the President of the United States, who has been elected by the majority and I believe in praying for our leaders, with the desire for them to do good and to succeed. It only makes sense we all stand to benefit if the president succeeds. So Ill continue to pray for our country and be grateful for the progress and the accomplishments that have happened. Ill also speak respectfully about my president and pray for all those who think they can do better...I get amazed at the over-inflated egos out there. I cant help but wonder what it looks like to the rest of the world to see how we Americans treat our own president. I think it makes a statement about the lack of self respect that runs rampant in this country and clearly exposes our weakness as a country divided rather than united.
