I like what Father Sean Winters said about the word JOY. In this self centered world, one should think of themselves last. The first should be J-Jesus, O -others, and Y -you. This was after my rant about Advent /Christmas. People complain that the holidays run together, Happythanksmas but never even pause to reflect and prepare for the birth of the Christ Child. Decorations go up in November and are taken down on DEC.26, not even waiting for Epiphany. It seems everyone buys into the consumer day instead of Christmas Day. I will be putting up the tree tomorrow or Sunday. I wont be tired of it on the 26th. The 12 Days of Christmas are from December 25- January 6. Am I being sanctimonious, yes, but is it sanctimonious if I live it? And while Im being obnoxious (in the name of the Lord of course), Christmas is not Jesus birthday. It is about the BIRTH of Christ. Think about it. There is a difference. Delete me if you must, but Im just sayin...
