I listened to a priest RAIL against socialism today. He went on at length, mocking the history of socialism, its ill-effects, its leaders: it would have been an equally appropriate speech at any Tea Party meeting. About half in the audience were teenagers. I know that Christian leaders are famous for being political from the pulpit, but in my 16 years of church-going, I rarely hear anything political. I think thats just something the media says in order to influence people to dislike Christianity. This wasnt a speech at a Sunday service, however, so maybe the priest was more free to express his views without time or topic or p.c. constraints.
