I listened to this over a nice tomato processing session this morning. So important! You should know who Vandana Shiva is! Among so many important ideas, she says what I have posted on my Facebook profile: that our planet has limits, and infinite economic growth is not possible on a finite planet. Neoliberal Capitalism, the Washington consensus, the essence of the stock market and public companies (that have the absolute and explicit mandate to make as much profit as possible), the consumer society, and the conventionally accepted and never questioned idea that growth (in dollar signs in a bank account somewhere) for growths sake is the ultimate societal goal (regardless of the environmental and so impact other negative impacts), ARE WRONG!
