I live 10 miles from Sandy Hook (RIP) and I also happen to live and work in very liberal states (Ct./NY)....and I heard so many liberal saying get rid of guns guns are the problem. Well, my retort was, and always has been two-fold; The problem is one of MENTAL ILLNESS and the lack of treatment facilities (the amount of them has dropped precipitously in the last 30 years). Secondly; I would explain how a gun is an inadament object and needs a person to wield it. With this, I use your above example and explain to all of them that IF ANYONE really wanted to murder a mass group of students they simply just have to wait outside almost ANY High School in America and run them over with a car as they walk deaf, dumb and blind back home. I was usually met with said liberal(s) walking out on my facts based reality, while shaking their heads in frustration and unable to retort with a counter argument of their own.
