I live in a rental. Its a fact of life. I really like where I live, its large, 1500 sf, inexpensive, relatively speaking, and secure. I do not like many features of it I do not like builders grade cabinets, carpet, hollow core doors, or boob lights. I am always thinking of ways to change what it looks like without doing structural damage. Here are a couple befores and afters of my kitchen. The skirt below the sink is not nailed in. I cut the pieces so that they fit very snug in the opening and popped them in. I will simple pop them out when I leave. The curtain is made from linen burlap which is one of my favorite fabirics, ever. I have changed out the boob light covers for more flattering fixtures which I will change back when I leave. I cannot do anything about the carpet and the hollow core doors, but I try to take the attention away from them. I have recently removed the pine hutch and replaced it with a plate rack for my ironstone . Will post pictures of other rooms soon. Almost every piece used in these transformations was thrifted, gifted, or scrounged .
