I live in downtown SLC. I wanted to take back a nearly $500 vacuum cleaner someone had given me from a Walmart at about 7300 S. Union Park Ave. Thats an outrageous price to pay for a vacuum cleaner -- even a Dyson, so I wanted to return it and have my friends debit card credited for its cost. I called the local Walmart at 1300 South and 300 West and asked if I could return it there as long as I had the receipt. She said sure. I took it to their customer service and they said they dont carry that specific item, so I would have to return it to the Walmart where it was bought. I asked the Walmart door security where the Walmart at 7300 S. Union Park Ave was, and he told me to drive south to 7200 South and turn right (heading west) and I couldnt miss the big Walmart going west on 7200 South. NOPE. After getting to about 3900 West, I stopped at a Maverick and the guy there told me I would have to drive EAST on 7200 South about 25 minutes to get to Union Park Ave.. So, instead of turning right at 7200 South, I should have turned left (going east). [Thanks, Walmart Security man.] Well, I ended up on Fort Union Blvd, headed east, which I mistakenly thought was Union Park Ave, drove through Cottonwood Heights and past The Canyon Inn Salt Lake City Nightclub (should have stopped to say hello, Jim Showman), but knew I had gone too far when I got to the mouth of the canyon. So I turned left and headed back home. When I finally got home, I looked it up on the computer and found that it was in Cottonwood Heights, but a few blocks south if I had turned right from Ft. Union Blvd. on 1300 East. So I missed it. It was a very long drive. Ill try again tomorrow. This time I know where Im going. Hopefully.
