I live, work, and play in a community of artists. Which I love. My close friends are some of the most talented people in this city. I get challenged and offered support on a regular basis... in ALL of my pursuits. It is pretty much perfect. For an artist. For a trigger puller, its a little different... Most people are so disconnected from the world that they assume they know who I am and what Im about, even without ever having a conversation with me. On a pretty regular basis I find myself ridiculed and ostracized for being passionate about what I do. Having to defend myself of other peoples ideas. Pew pew pew and dont shoot me bro are two phrases I hear daily (points deducted for lack of creativity). And then the world gets scary and unfamiliar for a minute. Those same people are the ones that now come to me asking for help... and are then surprised that I charge money. THEM. MONEY. Friends, or people that know me getting charged?! There are very few people that have an open invitation to shoot with me whenever they want. Asking to go to the range with me is essentially asking to go on a field trip that costs me money. I dont wanna. Unless I offer it. This is a phenomenon I only experience in South City. The rest of the world understands that what I do costs money to learn. Pllllleeeeeeaaaaaasssssseeeeee stop acting surprised. It wastes both of our time.
