I lived in the Canal Zone from 1965 to 1969. My Dad was stationed at Ft. Amador (G 2 Intelligence). We lived in a small housing unit on the Canal called Corazal. Our quarters were almost on the bank of the canal and often we would line up at the chainlink fence and yell Ahoy! to the ships as they passed. I attended school at Diablo Heights Elementary School. Some of my classmates were Diane Utley, Elizabeth McBride, Ricardo Montoya Diane Small and her brother David. I went to church at The Church of Christ in Balboa. Bro Locklear was the minister at the time we left. Other members I remember were the Georges, the Fines *who had an adopted son, Fernando). My youngest sister was born in Panama. My father was presented a plaque with the Hammerhead Shark God on the front and fellow workers on the back. I am looking for a picture of the Hammerhead Shark for my sister to complete a collection she has. (The original plaque is unavailable to her.) Thank you in advance for a picture and if anyone remembers me I would like to hear from you! Ruby Neisler Stewart)
