I look at it like this. Obviously doing BJJ is most helpful for BJJ and without any technique or know how and being just a great athlete is fruitless. If sprinting helps your BJJ as a supplement then learn how to be a great sprinter and use great technique by watching great sprinters. The goal is to run as fast as you can to be fast. If lifting helps BJJ then lift as great as you can and study lifters. If the goal is to get as much weight over your head as possible then the form that makes that most possible should be studied. I know what I am saying besides the BJJ work is not necessarily sport specific, but you can also obviously segment and train that aspect too. But if you are fast as you can be and as strong as you can be as an athlete I think it only adds to your BJJ. Your thoughts?
