I look at the outcome of the George Zimmerman Trial and unlike others I don’t view this as something to praise about. It was stupidity played out on many different levels. By stupidity I want to point out was first on Zimmerman’s part, he was told not to pursue and chose to do so any way, Martins part because he chose to confront Zimmerman in a physical manner with out thinking about what Zimmerman might be carrying. The Police for not giving Martin’s family a good solid reason WHY they did not want to pursue a case against Zimmerman. The press for turning the whole damn thing into a three ring circus act. I don’t see this a something to praise, I don’t see this as justice, I just can’t, all I can think of is what I would go through if it was MY SON that was killed. All I can see is one teenager DEAD, another man’s life RUINED...it is not something I can find anything positive about. I can’t find praise in the death of another... I just wish that the pro-gun activists don’t carry this as a banner, why because this hurts the 2nd amendment, think about this by claiming this as justice, or praise it in anyway you only give fuel to those that would have want to proactively diminish gun rights. It weakened stand your ground laws by showing a case where they could be taken advantage of. It also proved just how easy a life can be taken, I don’t know about most people but if it was my Son that had been killed, I can’t say what I would do. No victory, no justice, nothing more than a media freak show choke full of grieving and a life that has been ruined and life that has been lost. Zimmerman has been found not guilty, that does not mean his life has not been changed forever, he will bear this as black mark for the rest of his life. Martin’s parents will live forever with the fact that their son is dead, they will see him forever in memories and grieve, I know all to much how that feels...how it feels to do nothing but remember something and have that loss hit me like a freight train, then the tears... I hope others can see that this was not a good thing, it was tragedy on all levels.
