I look at this in the broadest context of business ethics. There are conditions in the world of which we are all well aware. Barring a miracle, they arent likely to change. Ever. The response to that has been armoring up in every conceivable way, which has served to further fuel the insanity. Along comes a high end retailer, who make no mistake, made this decision after careful analysis of its market potential. There are lots of things with huge market potential, which may or may not come to market. Some of the same companies producing products to make life better, could just as easily direct their efforts toward carnage. BMW made a choice. I believe this is one of the more cynical, vile, opportunistic events in the history of retail, and I personally condemn BMW for ever having considered bring this to market. There are legions of after market companies in the business or armoring automobiles. This did not need to happen. It it a horrific, disgusting, indefensible choice. I hope it serves to haunt BMW for years to come, and that it serves notice to any other greed driven enterprise that capitalizing on fear is not good business. Period.
