I look forward to the day when I can post the last update to this page, one which will not include a plea for help, but will rather be filled by an outpouring of gratitude and appreciation for those friends, family and complete strangers who have helped us weather the extremely difficult times of the past ten months. A chance for that day is approaching, but it is not this day. I have an offer for a permanent job that will start on February 9th, and I am in negotiations for a different permanent position which will start sooner and pay better, but Donna and I have already spent the last of what money I earned over the holidays on the extended stay hotel where we have been living for the past week. Our bill is paid up until the morning of January 16th (this coming Friday). These rooms are clean, come with a full-size refrigerator and two-burner cook top stove which allow us to safely store food and prepare our own meals, and they are in a safe neighborhood; they are not swanky. The temporary agency I worked through over the holidays has had no recent assignments, which leaves us with no money to further our stay. We will have to move out and either brave the elements by living in our car or move into a homeless shelter; and both of those options present significant risks to my ability to start and/or keep a job. It is our hope that we might raise enough money to keep us in our hotel room until I can start drawing paychecks. Its been a long haul, working with doctors and counselors, to reach a point where I am once again employable; and we seem just a few weeks close to a fruitful ending. If you can, please help us maintain our current situation until I can start one of these jobs. Best Wishes To All
