I look forward to the day when an act of terrorism by self-proclaimed Muslims will be universally dismissed as nothing more than a criminal attack of a thuggish political organization wearing an ill-fitting Muslim mask. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar As those of you who knew me closely in the 1980s may recall, I was a huge Lakers fan, primarily because of Magic Johnson and Kareem. I liked Magic because of his astounding skills for his size, his joy and charisma, and because his sister played for the Gamecocks. Kareem couldnt move like Magic, couldnt smile or entertain like Magic, and as far as I know, had no connection to the Gamecocks. However, in addition to the nearly undeniable fact that he was the most effective scorer that basketball has ever known, there was an obvious sense that he was a man of great wisdom and character. I hope you will all read this article he wrote, as it is not long, but very well written. As Ive said many times, there is no such thing as a Muslim Terrorist, because by definition, one cannot be both, just as it is impossible to be both a Christian and a terrorist. A killer always acts outside of his so-called religion, no matter what he may yell out as he kills. Why would you trust the words of a psychopath over the words of over a billion other Muslims who denounce murder, as is in accordance with The Quran? Dont go to the wrong sources for information. If you truly want this world to be a more peaceful place, start by building bridges and understand that the bridge must be built by the people on both sides of it.
