I looked for God in all the pages of holy scriptures, in the sounds of holy words, in the echoes of holy places. I studied every motion, every movement, followed every tradition. I shouted with the shouters, fought with the fighters. God was nowhere near the wars, the decrees, the deaths. I traveled across the oceans in search of a single glimpse of God, but came to nothing. I found God in the kindness of strangers. I saw God in the eyes of mothers, in the love of fathers. God was in the innocent laughter of a child, in the sheltering arms of a grandparent. In the warmth of those who serve without return, in the grace of a dance, the beauty of a moment. That is where God is. I traveled within myself in honesty and found God. God is in the majesty of mountains, the humbling awe of nature, the bonds and bounds of life. He is in the order of every atom, He is in the strength of every ant, the strength of every elephant. The same God whose grandeur and magnificence cannot be contained by all the skies in the universe, that God was found in a single believing heart. If you want to see God, look around you, look besides you. God is amongst neither the saints or sinners. God is amongst the lovers.
