I lost 1 pound today! It took 12 days of exercise and eating healthy to lose 1 pound. I’ve never had this much trouble before. I’ve never had to worry about my weight. I looked at my face in the mirror this morning and I have come to the conclusion that yes, I’m getting older and that age is probably what is making the weight harder to lose. I was discouraged at first until I realized that I can’t get all concerned about my outward appearance. That’s not what God is concerned about. My body is a vessel for His use and I should always work to stay fit and healthy. It’s just a natural part of life that my body will grow old. The part of me that God is most concerned about is the part that makes me “me”, my soul. It can only grow stronger and more beautiful with Jesus holding my hand. He has been with me on every part of this journey, in the good times and in the bad. Every trial is a detail that God is painting to make a beautiful picture of my life. I want Jesus to be the main part of that picture because I realized this morning that I love Jesus more than I did 10 years ago. I love Him more today than I did yesterday. I don’t want to worry about getting old and all the outward stuff. I want to have a beautiful soul! I want to love Him more tomorrow than I do today! Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. 2 Corinthians 2:16-18.
