I lost my favorite cane :( Ive looked all the house over and I just cant find it. It is my favorite because the shape fits my hand. Ive never found another just like that. When I need it, I really need it. Last night when we were shopping I really needed it...and when we got home I couldnt walk from the truck to the door. I ended up on a downhill slope and anyone who has this kind of difficulty understands that sometimes momentum is NOT your friend. I ended up wobbling DOWN the driveway and out into the dewey grass. The garage door kept getting further and further away. It made me think about our walk in this world and how we sometimes meander off our path and lose sight of our main goal. What I really need is a jetpack and a cane just like my old favorite one. Then if I found myself with an uphill walk ahead of me, I could turn on the jetpack and give myself a push up. We all need a push up sometimes. Have you allowed your momentum to guide you away from your intended goal, or do you keep pressing on toward your mark? Are you running a straight race, or does your path wander from the straight route to the finish line? Are you armed with a jet pack for a forward push and a cane to keep you from faltering. My jet pack in life is my relationship with Christ and my cane is the scriptures. Even though my real life walk is wobbly because of a physical disability, I have no spiritual disability what so ever. He makes my paths straight and give me the strength to face the day. If you are off the mark, put on your jetpack and get your cane and start forward again. Every moment is a chance to correct the direction and set out for your goal once again. Lets get moving!
