I love Christmas. I know some of you dont and I understand the reasons why. But, it doesnt have to be that way. So, what does it matter if the stores are decked out early and its not even Thanksgiving yet? It will be in three weeks, then Christmas in another four. Its a time Im thankful for, too, for the One who gave his life in my place. Christmas is my favorite time of year. The earlier the better, I say. Its always over too soon for me. I watch the heart warming stories and classic movies on TV. I make lists for my lists. I make sure no one is left out and everyone is equal. I decorate inside and out. I love riding around looking at lights. I love going to the childrens events, recitals, and the school and church plays and choirs. I love the caroling, listening and singing. I love the friends and family gatherings. I love giving gifts and sending cards. I love the homemade gifts from my grandkids, and the dancing and laughter. I love the food and hot chocolate, the eggnog and mistletoe and chocolate covered cherries. I love baking and cooking and decorating cookies. I love the fireplace burning and stockings hung and filled, scented candles, the music and the tree with a thousand twinkling lights. I love giving to those in need, and spending time with those who are alone, wishing I could give and do more. I love praying for and seeing the faces of our service men and women on TV, wishing their loved ones back home a Merry Christmas - always makes me cry. I love watching for Santa on radar with the grandchildren. I love the kids leaving notes, milk and cookies for Santa, and carrots for the reindeer. I love that we celebrate the birth of our Savior. I reminisce of Christmas past and remember loved ones who are no longer with us, missing them terribly. Yet, I love the memories and making more. I love a million things about Christmas, but my heart simply swells seeing the newness and wonderment of it all through a childs eyes. Did I say I LOVE CHRISTMAS?? Absolutely, 100%, without a shadow of a doubt, I certainly do!! Merry Christmas and my love to all. ~Sheila
