I love Christmas songs but I dont like Christmas and Boxing day. Christmas has become a day about how much food one can eat, how many gifts one can give and recieve, how many people has to cook for and its become so commercialised and all the shops want you to buy their products for your loved ones. There is nothing proving that Jesus was born on Christmas day but its just a fact that Christmas is not celebrated as it should be. Many families dont even read the bible or go to church and I have heard that for some people its a very difficult time of year. I am not against celebrations but I think many people go too far and some families only get together because of so called Christmas but isnt spending time together and having a relationship meant to be at any time of year and not just because of a event that people have made into a certain way. I was always alone for Christmas and this year I fortunately wont be but I do think of people who have nothing or people who struggle and who dont have money to spend on food or friends to invite over. If one goes to church or listens to christmas music or has a good filling meal then thats good and its wonderful to be able to spend time with friends and family but there shouldnt have to be a planned event or a public holiday or it shouldnt be made so commercialised. Jesus is so important but people dont get that Jesuss birthday wasnt on Christmas day. Its great to have a Christmas spirit but I just feel it must be done in the right way.
