I love King David!! A man after Gods own heart and a King! His prayer in Psalms is perfect! He being King lived in a fish bowl yet he published his writings without fear! His prayer Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a loyal spirit within me...Restore to me the joy of your salvation and make me willing to obey you. Then I will teach your ways to rebels and they will return to you (51:10-13) He admits he is tired, not feeling it, his heart is not where it needs to be and nor is his loyalty. He wants that fire back as the day of his salvation! To be obedient again. Who hasnt felt this way? He then seeks Gods forgiveness knowing The Lord would never reject a broken and repentant heart! Is that you today? Sometimes just like this King we need to put ourselves out there a little showing others that we too battle with this. We dont always feel it and we are not perfect. Its ok. What David did next (15) he asked God to unseal his lips so he may sing praises! Look I admit to needing to pray this today! Why? So I can teach his ways to the rebels so they will return to Him!! Thats the reason we breath! Thank you Jesus for the freedom of the Word and thank you King David that Im not the only one!
