I love animals. My love for them tortures me at times. I also find it very very hard to view images depicting abuse, torture, exploitation and a myriad of more scenarios where their liberty is compromised. Human encroachment on their habitats, the annihilation of their environment is leading to only one end. Their extinction. I have mentioned this a few times in my recent posts here on Convos. We are all, at this very moment, living through the 6th Mass Extinction of animal species on Earth. And its happening at a faster rate than the disappearance of dinosaurs. Nature is not doing this, WE ARE. WE, the humans. We have subjugated the animal world simply because we can. Man is the ultimate terrorist. Earths natural environment is looking very bleak and I cannot imagine a world without wildlife, without the Apex predators roaming the prairies, without the awe inspiring wonder these creatures bring to the landscape of our Earth. The Earths Eco system is fragile enough as it is, and the scales are tipping in the direction of destruction. There may be nothing left for your children, their children, and all the future generations to wonder at, to enjoy the beauty and majesty of wildlife. Nothing at all.
